The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has cancelled this year’s North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC).

This is an annual event that combines competition and training for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) inspectors. Awards and recognition are also provided to the inspectors who have done an exceptional  job during the prior year. Jurisdictions send their top inspector to compete against the best inspectors from the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The American Trucking Association (ATA) National Trucking Driving Championship,  NAIC and the National Step Van Driving Championships are usually held at the same. These events come together with one large award show at the end of the week. ATA recently gave notice they will not be doing their National Trucking Driving Championship this year. Due to this, the board of CVSA decided to cancel their championship as well.

CVSA’s next event, the Annual Conference and Exhibition, is still scheduled to happen on August 29 – September 2, 2021. NAIC is currently scheduled for next year for August 15-19, 2022. The board will continue to keep track of COVID-19 and advise if any other changes in events are going to take place.
