Posted on 02/17/2017 by David Radke

There has been recent reports of a telephone scam involving an individual falsely claiming to represent the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. The caller claims the taxpayer has a tax liability and requests a credit card number. The Comptroller’s office will never ask for credit card information over the telephone.
If you receive one of these calls, note the telephone number and contact their office immediately at reportfraud@cpa.texas.gov.
